Interiors roundup: Up-cycled furniture

I am so excited to be sharing gorgeous interiors with you. As Rachael Taylor’s new Interiors roundup editor, I will be posting every Thursday afternoon with my weekly update of all things Interiors. This week, we have a pretty little range of upcycled furniture.

Just to give you a little background to this post, I have recently moved house, and I’ve been completely obsessed with buying second hand furniture and up-cycling it with Annie Sloan’s chalk paint, to give it a new lease of life. Little Miss Loolies

Hello! Warming up for the winter is important but you often find yourself looking the same for the whole season. Logically the next year you want to update your wardrobe. But what happens to all those forgotten knits?
I am loving this idea. Little Miss Loolies, created by Sarah Hepworth gives no longer used knitted objects a chance to shine again in a new shape and form. Witty Typography!

Blogging about another great designer seen at Top Drawer, the brilliant typography-based artist, Coulson Macleod. Not only does his work feature brilliant typography and witty quotes and sayings, it is also printed on natural and reclaimed materials and recycled paper which makes each piece unique and environmentally friendly!

Quirky Kid's Toy Designs

Hello Everyone Sian here, currently doing a work placement with Rachael.

Blogging about all the brilliant designers seen at Top Drawer last week! Dutch Designers Kids on Roof's Beautiful, Creative and Environmentally friendly recycled cardboard designs really stood out. They have ranges of kids toys, pop up cards and a new cotton collection all sustainable and imaginitively designed.

We especially like their 'Totem Birds on Tree Design' featured below. Check out their whole range on their site!

Jute Bags - Marks & Spencer

#Happy Friday!

One of the best parts of my job is receiving samples of products I've designed.  It's always really lovely to see things printed & presented to go in to the stores. I designed a new collection of jute bags for Tigerprint UK/Marks & Spencer last year & they are now available to buy. I really like the wooden buttons:)

They are re usable so eco friendly! They can be used as gift bags but they also make great little lunch bags or shopping bags too!

Recycled Teabags

Have you ever wondered how many teabags you use a day, week, month? All that binned into oblivion!  This tablecloth is a beautiful idea created by designer Ximena Escobar.  Made out of recycled teabags of all sorts and flavours they blend together beautifully.  Finished with a screen printed decoration it supplies a new idea to embellish your table and be kind to the environment.  This wonderful piece was named one of the winners in a environmentally friendly competition.

Wallypocket

Hello Everyone! It's Moni here, I will be taking over the blogposts this week and will try to bring you some fun and interesting bits to inspire you.

Today I want to show you Wallypockets, the prettiest and greatest idea I've seen in a while for all of us out there with no garden space and no evident green fingers.
I like these for a number of reasons, first of all the modular living wall system is made of 100% recycled water bottles, second you can put them in any environment and they will be al right (see how they work here).  I also love the fact that the pockets can go on the wall, so you can create a living piece of art which is a different and lovely idea.
There are several indoor and outdoor, vertical or horizontal options, any way they are beautiful, fun and kind to the environment.
