Kids

Hello Hello!

We all look back at our childhoods and think about the amazing toys we used to have. They really are a source of happiness and lovely memories. I  love to see the different toys children play with now a days. Here are a few examples. Everything seems to be incredibly interactive and educational which is brilliant. Have a look at some fab examples, all available at the MoMA store. Enjoy, Love Moni!

Inkling

Technology now a days is amazing!  Sometimes though, it seems to hold us back from using our very own incredible tool, our hands.
Wacom has created a fantastic gadget to combine hand sketching and computer technology. The Inkling allows you to draw on paper and then translate this to your computer to be digitally altered. I don't know about you, but this tool makes me really excited! Here's a video to show you how it works. Visit their website for more of Wacom's products. Love Moni!

Paper Blossoms

Hey Everyone! Another one of the best parts of New York City is the shopping. I loved my trip to the MoMA (Museum Of Modern Art)! I love being surrounded by creativity and such iconic art. I also love the shop at the museum. So many innovative things with beautiful design. I got the most amazing book there which now sits on my dining room table for everlasting spring inside my home. Not only is it cleverly done, its a beautiful idea. Paper Blossoms by Marshall is one of the many masterpieces by Chronicle Books. Here are a few photos! Love Moni!

Hi folks, Kelly here wishing you a happy Monday!

Today I am featuring the very talented, fun and quirky work of Katherine and Rebecca, the illustrators behind the work of 'Honksville'. Their range is guaranteed to put a smile or a grin on your face! I particularly like the adorable dolls they create and anything moustache related, hilarious! Plus their site is so beautifully illustrated you won't be able to keep yourself off it! Here's some of the products that drew my eye.

Enjoy! Kelly :)

The Talented Chris Piascik!

Today I'd like to share with you the uber cool work from highly talented illustrator Chris Piascik. I first came across his gorgeous typography & illustrations via pinterest. I can literally spend hours on his website as it's jam packed with so much fun stuff, it really is an amazing online portfolio.

Chris has worked on a variety of fab projects and has a enviable client list too working with the likes of: Chronicle Publishing, Nike, Goodbyn, Monolith Music Festival, Pemberton Music Festival, Gnarls Barkley, Mr. Lif, Mayer Hawthorne, Akrobatik, Academy Snowboards, The Discovery Channel, Stash DVD Magazine, Mars Music Group, Morgan & Milo, Second Glass, BzzAgent, Straylight Run, Eat Boston, The Boston Conservatory, Theaterworks.

You can really see why these prestigious clients choose to work with him!

"An artist who recently held his sixth solo exhibition, Chris Piascik is also active in the design community. With 6 years of professional experience at award-winning firms in New England, he is currently working as a freelance designer and illustrator. He has been fascinated with design since he discovered his parent’s music collection at a young age. It was his first exposure to design, and it was only a matter of time before he began remixing the album packaging to better suit what he was hearing. He holds degrees in Visual Communication Design and Art History from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, where he has moonlighted as an instructor of several design courses.
In 2008, the American Institute of Graphic Arts selected his poster design as a winning entry for its Get Out the Vote campaign. Distributed nationwide and displayed in conjunction with the Republican and Democratic national conventions, Chris’s poster was also part of the Declare Yourself campaign. His other recognitions include Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Excellence Awards and the Judges Award from the Connecticut Art Director’s Club as well as a BoNE award from the AIGA. In addition his work has been published in numerous books and publications including the Logo Lounge series, Typography Essentials and Lettering, Beyond Computer Graphics. In the few hours Chris isn’t designing, illustrating, or drawing, he’s definitely not sleeping"…

You can follow Chris on twitter @chrispiascik. For more information about Chris you can visit his fab website here.

I'm also super excited to announce that I've featured a selection of his pieces in the e-course. He is now featured as one of our many talented contributors.
