Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Today I wanted to share with you a selection of images from my inspiring trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I met up with a creative friend & we had such a lovely relaxing day out. Words can't describe how amazing this place is. To find beautiful art & sculptures dotted around & weaved in between picturesque scenery is just unbelievable. I only had the morning free so we only covered a small fraction of the outdoor park (it's a huge place!). I hope to visit again soon to see more of the captivating views.

The park & galleries are actually FREE! It really is a hidden gem.

Love Rachael x

V&A Exhibition: Hollywood Costume

Running from the 20th October to 27th January is the exciting & unique 'Hollywood Costume' exhibition as the V&A Museum!

'Clothes are never a frivolity, they always mean something'.
- James Laver (1899 - 1975), the first Keeper of the V&A Theatre Collections.

'What's great about costume is it's the visual representation of the internal side of people. That's what I love.'
- Film Director, Tim Burton

'If you (the costume designer) can make the audience feel the actress is the character, then it's a good job of costuming'.
- Costume Designer, Edith Head (1897 - 1981)

The exhibition will include over 100 of the most iconic character costumers from a century of Hollywood films. There will be 3 galleries to explore including costumes from 'The Wizard of Oz', 'Titanic', 'Indian Jone', 'Pirates of The Caribbean' & 'Avatar'. The exhibition will go in depth into the making & designing of costumes for Hollywood & designing a character 'from script to screen'. Most costumes have never even been displayed before!
To find out more information about the exhibition, visit the V&A website.

Enjoy! Kelly :)

Design Icons - Post War British Textiles

I recently went on  a very inspiring trip to London & visited the Fashion and Textile Museum. There is a fantastic exhibition at the moment called Designing Women Post-War British Textiles. I was amazed & slightly overwhelmed by it... My all time favourite designer Lucienne Day played a huge part in the exhibition, it was such a privilege to see her wonderful work!

The museum actually allowed me to take photographs too! I'd highly recommend visiting the exhibition.
