Artistic Britain (Spring Fair)

Today I wanted to share a selection of fabulous image from the lovely people at Artistic Britain who recently exhibited & launched Spring Fair. Some very special shoes!

Happy Friday everyone! Today I wanted to share a design I created for a very EXCITING competition with the fabulous RockNRollBride & IF Ladies. The competition was to design your own wedding shoes. Yes, you heard it right! DESIGNING SHOES! As you can imagine I have a fun, colourful wedding planned so this would really be the icing on the cake!

I have literally designed everything for my wedding from the dress, right through to the wedding stationery & decorations. To wear a pair of shoes adorned with my own hand drawn surface pattern designs would mean so much to me!

My amazing photographers navyblur would have so much fun shooting these! Like me they have quirky fun taste & are also colour lovers!

Here's a little design I created which I thought was very appropriate this Valentine's Day. Hope you like it!

Adolie Day

Recently Rachael announced that she is now a proud member of the Lilla Rogers Studio. For the next few months we have decided to feature a regular weekly showcase from Lilla's esteemed group of designers & Illustrators. Today we bring you the lovely Adolie Day.

Adolie Day is a french artist & illustrator. Although she has previously experiences 3 years working as a textile designer for children's fashion, which is a huge influence in the illustrations she creates for children's books & various of other products today. Adolie draws beautifully, detailed characters which are inspired by fairy tales & as though they are from a wonderland dream. Some of the characters in Adolie's illustrations are surreal & retro girl portraits with bunny rabbits, butterflies & flowers. Adolie uses both hand & digital medias to creates her illustrations, she has also included characters arranged into photographs.

Adolie has had many exhibition throughout France, Italy & USA over the last 5 years. Her client list includes Kenzo Kids, Leonidas & La Marelle. Robyn Taylor

You may remember me featuring the talented Robyn Taylor (of Robyn Toria Illustrations) a little while ago, today I have some more of her amazing illustrations to share! This time I commissioned Robyn to work on a personal project for me in which she created a stunning illustration of my adorable niece & nephew.

Below is the original photo, sketch & final design. I asked Robyn to combine one of patterns within the piece. We chose my 'Quirky Motifs' design as a simple & contemporary backdrop to compliment the illustration.

I was really pleased with the final result & I gave the project as a lovely gift to my sister & her partner for Christmas.

Laura Mysak

Happy Friday!

Today we are featuring the lovely work of surface pattern designer Laura Mysak 'who loves to hand-paint flowers and create patterns'. Laura's inspiration comes from historical & traditional textiles & illustrations, while still injecting a sense of modern design. Laura has worked in design studios for the British fashion market & is currently freelancing & commissioning designs.

Mike Lowery

Mike Lowery is an Artist based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Mike's profession is mainly illustration but he also creates surface design. Mike is also a professor of illustration at the Savannah College of Art & Design Atlanta. Mike's illustration are bold, quirky & imaginative, which are originally drawn by hand & the manipulated digitally using Photoshop. A lot of Mike's illustrations are designed for young children but there is a variety for other ages. Typography has recently been brought into some of his illustrations.

Mike's illustration have been designed for a range of products including stationery, t-shirts & prints which you can find on Mike's online shop. Mike has also designed for children's clothing for a company called 'Three Little Trees' which is based in Australia. Mike has many clients including Hallmark, Macmillan, American Greetings, Disney & many more. He has had interviews & features in the Washington post & Washington city paper. Mike's illustrations are also featured in the 'Print & Pattern' book. Enjoy, Hannah.
