I am thrilled to be able to share some inspirational art and design with you every Tuesday morning as Rachael's 'Art and Creative Writer'. This week, I'm featuring the crafty creations of Dottie Angel.

Dottie Angel is the alter-ego of British born but now Seattle based maker, Tif Fussell. She creates fabric goodness out of vintage finds and has developed her own lifestyle brand, coined 'granny chic'. 

She is co-author of a book of the same name which has over twenty projects to help us find out 'inner granny chic crafting soul'. Tif has an inspiring blog, Facebook page and Etsy shop where she sells her hand-made wares. More next week, Justine x

Artist Review: Martin O'Neill

I am thrilled to be able to share some inspirational art with you every Tuesday morning as Rachael's  'Art and Creative Writer'. This week, we're featuring the hand made collages of Martin O'Neill.

Martin is a highly accomplished illustrator based in the U.K. He has an old school attitude towards his techniques, mainly using a blend of collage, silkscreen, photography, paint, and digital techniques.

He has created collaged illustrations for the publishing, editorial, advertising and design markets internationally. I love the layering of imagery and mix of nostalgic eras within his work. More eye candy next week, Justine x.

Happy Monday!

Since I am working on my very own vintage inspired project, I thought I would share some of the scrumptious vintage inspired design to be found online at ModCloth. Their quirky, retro inspired design is completely out there yet is so lovely to look at you'll quickly find yourself continuously pointing at the screen saying "I want that!". Don't even get me started on their vintage clothing section!

Retro and vintage

Happy Tuesday folks, Kelly here!

This is my final blog post for Rachael as I have now finished my placement with her and want to thank her for the fantastic opportunity and for all the helpful advice she has given me! I hope to be just as successful one day!

On with the post... Retro and vintage themes in recent years have become dominant and popular trends in both interiors and fashion. Antiquing has never been so popular and vintage items are highly prized, and this has therefore filtered into contemporary print and pattern as recognised by trendbible and by all the pinners on pinterest.
