Royal Souvenir
Hello Everyone! Today is a good day, we have a looong upcoming weekend and all thanks to the wedding of the century! Fan or not of the Royal Family, everyone has had something to say about this upcoming ceremony! Not being British myself I have been thoroughly amused by all the talk, the photos and mainly the merchandise. That is why today I've decided to give you a selection of my favourite Royal Wedding stuff.
From Liberty London, Magma Books, Joy Store to Etsy crafts. Hope you enjoy them!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the wedding fun! Love Moni!

Design Stars!
So last week I went back to Liverpool to judge all of the Design Stars entries for the surface pattern category. It was a long day & it was really tough... (as the standard was really high) but I loved every minute of it. I was really overwhelmed by the response & high volume of entries we received!
So a huge thank you to the Liverpool designinit.org.uk for inviting me to run the surface design area of the competition it has been great fun & really rewarding too! A huge thank you to all of the schools that entered & the staff support I received, not to mention all of the fab work the students put in!
We did pick our top three! Along with our final nominees for the masterclass weekend. I can't announce the winner yet... but I'll post it on the blog as soon as I can. I LOVED the winning entry (the student really had a great style, natural talent & a great eye for design) so I'm very excited about sharing the student's work with you.

Sunshine!
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter break & managed to enjoy some of the sunshine we've been having recently. Here are a few images that I took over the weekend whilst out running with my lovely dog Alfie (they are just snapshots from my phone, but I thought some of the blossoms were really pretty!)

Fabulous Stuff!
Happy Friday everyone!:)
Today I'd like to introduce you all to the wonderful work & products by angelbill.co.uk designed & created by the super talented Kate Toms (a very lovely & modest lady too!)
I first spotted Kate's work last year at the 2010 BCTF & was wowed by it! The range is fun, fresh & just lovely. My stand was right near Kate's again this year so it was really nice & enjoyable too! To find out more about the Angel Bill Trading Company you can visit their website here
I've posted a fair few images, but the work looks even more beautiful in real life.

Georgina Fowler
Hello everyone!
What a beautiful week this has been! The Spring is in full boom (or should I say bloom) and we have finally let our arms out on the fresh air! The best thing about this Thursday is that it's the last working day of the week yay! So today I bring you some beautiful ceramics from another one of our neighbours at the BCTF, Georgina Fowler.
Georgina is a surface pattern designer, that creates brilliant ceramics! Her work is inspired by fairy tales and the surreal. This is all presented in her work in the shapes of animals, colours and shapes.
I really like the clever illustrations that gain a new meaning when put on the softness of ceramics.
If you would like to see a bit more of Georgina, visit her website.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend! Love Moni!

Multitasking!
Happy Tuesday everyone:) hope you all managed to enjoy some sunshine!
This pic from #pinterest seemed very appropriate for me this week... but it's all good fun & it keeps me on my toes! I actually love how varied my working week can be sometimes. This week I'm booked up with freelance commissions, I'm continuing with the Liverpool Design Stars as I'm booked as part of the judging panel (really looking forward to seeing the entries) & I have lots of new exciting stockists to send products too! So a chaotic but very exciting week!

Anniversary
I almost forgot... it's my studio/freelance anniversary!
I left my old full time design job exactly three years ago now. WOW! it's gone so fast, it's been a crazy & exciting roller coaster but I've loved every minute. Lots of long hours (& sometimes very stressful times) but I genuinely love my job, so some days it really doesn't feel like work at all (I'm very blessed & grateful to have worked with lots of great people & projects)
I took the plunge & I'm so glad I did! I've never looked back. I always think you might as well as give something a 'try' to at least know you gave something a go... than to have regrets about never trying something. Since setting up on my own as a freelancer & building up my own company it has given me lots of courage to just go for things! So sometimes if you are unsure about something it can really pay off to just go for it. I think it's good to know you have at least tried (even if it doesn't work out, you can learn from it) & taken the odd risk now & then. It keeps it all exciting!
Life is an adventure:)
