Happy Friday! Today we are announcing the winner of our ABSPD Inspiring Quotations Competition & showcasing some of the AMAZING designs we received. We get send many emails & words of gratitude from the alumni of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (which makes the hard work worthwhile) - & thought it would be fun to ask students to design their words into a visual testimonial. You can see our winner below. We love the ABSPD community & we are honoured to be a part of it!

Follow Your Dreams!

It has been pretty chaotic in the studio lately as we have been juggling so many things such as our new wedding collection, new product ranges, MOYO magazine & the launch of the next full series of 'The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design' (the e-course)'. When your hectically running around sometimes you forget to appreciate the little things.

Last week was such a 'happy' week as I received masses of new styled photography from my fab photographers navyblur. I had a moment to take stock and assess how far my brand had come.

I'm just someone doing what I love, who works hard & remains dedicated and to see everything coming together lately really made me smile. So many people ask me about my career & how it evolved & I'm so pleased that I get to share my story within our very own e-course.

I left my full time job 5 years ago to fly solo & would never have imagined or believed all of the things that have happened so far! (Here are a few of my product collages that showcase a selection of my designs used in multiple ways. Along with a typographic quote that I created recently.)

Inspiring 2012!

Happy New Year & happy 2012!

I hope you all had a wonderful break & are ready to begin the new year! I really had a roller coaster ride in 2011... I skydived solo, got engaged in Las Vegas, became an Auntie again, shook Elton John's hand, met design icon Zandra Rhodes, was a bridesmaid for the 1st time, fell in love with teaching, built a design studio, appeared on TV, freelanced for some uber cool clients, expanded my design label, started a new e-course & joint business, began to love writing, licensed my designs internationally & changed my hair from brunette to blonde... Phew!!! Busy year!
I love the unknown... I'm very excited to see what 2012 brings!? Here are a selection of inspiring words to kick start your 2012! What do you have planned? Or do you thrive off spontaneity!?
