The Secret Lives of Princesses

Thursday's here, whoopie!
Halloween has passed, so has the middle of the month, Christmas is undeniably in the air now and although we all try to hold up taking out the tree or singing along to all the songs, it is time to start thinking about wish lists and gift shopping.  This is my #1 wish item this joyfull season, a children's book.  The Secret Lives of Princesses is a beautiful collection of stories by Philippe Lechermeier and illustrated by Rébecca Dautremer. These are no ordinary princesses and although you might have not heard from them before, they all have a charming and interesting story to tell.  Magical illustrations bring Princess Somnia, Princess Meetu and many others to life and make this a fantastic book.

So be sure to look it up on your next trip to the book shop. Have a great day, Love Moni!

Florals!

I photographed absolutely everything that inspired me on the trip... I always get lots of design ideas from just walking around with my camera. Here are a few pretty florals that were dotted around the beautiful gardens at the hotel.

Hope you like them!

Lanterns!

Here are a few pretty pics of the stacks of beautiful lanterns that I found in the Souks in Marrakech. I just adore lanterns... I think I'm slightly obsessed as I have a fair few in my home & garden already.  I bought four more for the new studio, can't wait till it's built & I can get them all displayed.

Loved all of these! this was my favourite stall in the Souks. The travel guide said something like there was 61000 stalls inside the old walls. I probably only got around a quarter of that. It really is a magical & slightly crazy place to visit. I'd love to go back one day:)

More Marrakech inspiration to follow on the blog this week!

Inspired!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I'm back from a lovely inspirational trip to Marrakech. I took so many pics! I have lots of great inspiration & finds to share too. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into some new designs next week now! I have a fair few photos to work through, but here are some beautiful sunsets to hopefully cheer up your wintery Tuesday (can't believe how cold it's gone!)

New skins for Christmas!!!

I Love all these designs for the laptop and I Phone, they are brilliant! I think Rachael has an amazing eye for colour, pattern and design; that you can't help but want to work when your laptop looks as good as this. Plus it is a practical product too, as it stops my macbook from getting scratched so it is good on all accounts. And I hope my niece isn't reading this, but this is a perfect present for her for Christmas!!! I will place my order now before they sell out  - if you like what you see go to http://www.society6.com/studio/rachaeltaylordesigns/50s_Inspired_Quirky_Print
to choose your favourite design and press buy on the design you like.

Now the only thing I have to do now is choose! Help someone! What is your favourite? Let me know below!!!

Squint

Today is a Wonderful day! Friday! So I bring you something wonderful.
I don't know what all of you have as screen savers on your computers. Photographs, landscapes, pebbles or an overload of icons.  My Screen saver is the photo of my dream bed, I have it there so that I can look at it enough times to eventually own it one day.  Maybe a money bank will prove more efficient, but I still love looking at it.

This wonderful bed belongs to Squint!
Based in London, Squint makes amazing bespoke furniture using patchwork and traditional shapes.  It is a rare and special decoration option that will fill up any room and give personality and fabulous style to any space.  Made in England and upholstered traditionally, every one of their products is classy but quirky.

So have a look, visit their website and delight yourselves.
Have a great weekend! love moni!

Kitty & Dude

Happy Thursday everybody!

I have an empty wall at home that has been bothering me, I want to fill that space in a different way. I started thinking about a remote memory I have, one of my first ever memories of my great grandmothers house.  It's a blurry memory, more like stills and images, but what I always see in it is a wall full of ceramic plates that she had hand painted.  There were big and small ones most illustrated with flowers.  It was a beautiful wall and I think I want to recreate it.  So while I get myself to ceramic classes I did some browsing for artists who can give me a little help.

Introducing the amazing work of  Cosima Sempil. This ceramicist from Edingburgh has a beautiful range of ceramic products under the name of Kitty & Dude.  From plates, mugs and jugs, to birds and pigs and even flower printed grenades, all ceramic that you can use, wear and hang.  The products come in quirky and unusual shapes with sweet prints. I love them!  I think I might start my new wall with one of these!
Have a look!

Enjoy! Love, moni.
