Beauty Breakdown: Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

Good morning creative people!

Welcome to a Beauty morning with me, MaJo :) Every Thursday I'll delight you with gorgeously packed beauty products (and every now and then, I'll even throw you a beauty secret).

Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is one of my favourite designers, and I have no idea why I waited so long to show you her beauty products! I love her bright and colourful, fun, minimal and naive design aesthetic. She's a surface design genius: her patterns are simple and effortless, but so striking at the same time. I just looooove them all and whenever I see her work is like candy calling for a child in a candy shop. Please delight yourself with these pretty pieces of pattern sweets :)

Creative Review: Nancy Nicholson

I am thrilled to be able to share some inspirational art and design with you every Tuesday morning as Rachael's 'Art and Creative Writer'. This week, we're featuring the fun folk art of Nancy Nicholson.

Nancy is a freelance graphic designer and artist, working primarily with paper and textiles. She has recently developed a collection of designs for three dimensional paper products, stitch kits for home embroidery, and a range of poster designs.

Based in Kent, Nancy is continuing a rich family heritage in textile design. Her father, Roger was a textiles lecturer at the Royal College of Art, an artist and wallpaper designer, whilst her mother, Joan, was a leading figure in the revival of stitch crafts from the 1950s through to the 70s.

I've had my eye on Nancy's gorgeous folk art embroidery kits for a while now and her website has an online shop full of goodies for you to explore. Below is a small selection of what's available from this gifted designer.

Typography Friday // Oakdene Designs!

These fun & colourful typographic prints & wall stickers are from Oakdene Designs! Their team is based in Surrey & they work hard to produce "high quality" & "contemporary" products. They use state-of-the-art printers & good quality papers to create modern products that can be used indoors & outdoors! We love their use of contemporary songs & lyrics along with beautiful typography.
