Flower Market
Flower Market
Good Monday everybody! It's Moni here, I'll be looking after the blog this week while Rachael is away. I have some great inspiration and fab artisits to introduce you too.
I had a wonderful weekend in London and my favourite part of it was that I got to go to the market I like the most, Columbia Road Flower Market.
Located on Columbia Rd in East London, it happens every Sunday from 8am to 3pm.
It is a fantastic place to visit with a combination of quirky little shops and the most beautiful fresh flowers for sale. It is fun, pretty and an amazing place to shop, have a bite and leave with some gorgeous flowers for the home.

DWYL Retreat!
Happy Friday everyone:)
Moni will be looking after the blog next week as I'm off on the the 'Do What You Love' retreat, I can't wait! There is a wonderful bunch of super talented people going from all around the world! So it's all very exciting & I can't wait to meet them. I'm looking forward to slowing down too as everything has been so fast paced lately.
Wish me luck for my talk (creative enterprise session) that I'm running on the Saturday! I hope everyone enjoys it. I promise to blog about the retreat when I'm back.

Kirsten Jones
Hello Everyone! Can you believe it's May already? Today I come to you with some gorgeous inspiration by artist Kirsten Jones. I saw her wonderful work for the first time at the BTCF and I loved it. Her pieces tell a story and are full of a vintage feel and a light aesthetic.
Made out of old envelopes, stamps, dictionary text and maps, these beautiful collages take form to create an image that tell the story of where these materials came from.
I find her work very soothing and interesting to watch, like you can find something different every time you look at them.

Tea Towels!
Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday break & enjoyed the royal wedding!
Today I thought I'd post some of my new product/press images (that are now uploaded on my online store) So I have have two complete ranges 'Cow Parsley' the softer more subdued palette & the 'Etched Floral' range that I'm known for... as it's my brighter, quirkier palette.

Royal Souvenir
Hello Everyone! Today is a good day, we have a looong upcoming weekend and all thanks to the wedding of the century! Fan or not of the Royal Family, everyone has had something to say about this upcoming ceremony! Not being British myself I have been thoroughly amused by all the talk, the photos and mainly the merchandise. Design Stars!
So last week I went back to Liverpool to judge all of the Design Stars entries for the surface pattern category. It was a long day & it was really tough... (as the standard was really high) but I loved every minute of it. I was really overwhelmed by the response & high volume of entries we received!
So a huge thank you to the Liverpool designinit.org.uk for inviting me to run the surface design area of the competition it has been great fun & really rewarding too! A huge thank you to all of the schools that entered & the staff support I received, not to mention all of the fab work the students put in!
We did pick our top three! Along with our final nominees for the masterclass weekend. I can't announce the winner yet... but I'll post it on the blog as soon as I can. I LOVED the winning entry (the student really had a great style, natural talent & a great eye for design) so I'm very excited about sharing the student's work with you.
