Beauty Breakdown: Crabtree & Evelyn

Good morning creative people!

Welcome to a Beauty morning with me, MaJo :) Every Thursday I'll delight you with gorgeously packed beauty products (and every now and then, I'll even throw you a beauty secret).

I've recently discovered Crabtree & Evelyn, an internationally known British luxury brand that was born as a small, family-run business. With their products, they want to 'transform everyday rituals into extraordinarily pleasurable experiences', and I must say their packaging definitely makes for an enjoyable visual experience! They have so many products and so many beautifully designed packages that I had a hard time choosing which ones to show you. However, the minute I saw their Heritage Soaps I saw the light, hehehe. This collection of soaps is all handcrafted and made using traditional methods and the best available ingredients. On their description they wrote 'good things do come in small packages', and in this case I agree. The packaging of the soaps remind me of old times where there were only natural ingredients to use to create them, and if I were to see them in a shop, I would certainly buy them as a treat to my skin :)

Lilla Rogers

Recently Rachael announced that she is now a proud member of the Lilla Rogers Studio. For the next few months we have decided to feature a regular weekly showcase from Lilla's esteemed group of designers & Illustrators. Today we bring you the lovely Lilla Rogers herself.

Lilla Rogers is an enthusiastic artist, teacher & agent currently based in Massachusetts, USA. Lilla has a very distinctive style which flows beautifully in her work. Using all different medias Lilla creates radiant, quirky & courageous illustrations. Lilla doesn't just work traditionally, but does digitally manipulate her work too. Lilla stays inspired by reading blogs, own old art books, browsing in shops & her artist's work. Lilla has many clients including Chronicle Books, New York Times, Rolling Stone & many more. Artist Review: Jennis Li Cheng Tien

I am thrilled to be able to share some inspirational art with you every Tuesday morning as Rachael's new 'Art and Creative Writer'. This week, we're featuring the digital art of Jennis Li Cheng Tien. 

Based in Berlin, Taiwanese model and artist Jennis Li Cheng Tien studied Interactive Media Design in Singapore, before moving to Germany in 2008. In 2010 she received her MFA in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies at the Bauhaus University of Weimar. 

Known for her ability to digitally create vibrant and varied portraits, her work involves the reprocessing of random images found on the internet with digital manipulation, to create mysterious blurred creations. Jennis has been working on the ongoing series 'Have a Nice Day' since August 2010 - a fusion of the artists love of contemporary fashion and paintings. 

Below is a selection of her beautiful abstract portraits. I love the use of neon in these eye catching colour combinations, which you can see more of on her website. Have a great week, Justine x

Beauty Breakdown: MOZI

Today I want to show you some bright and modern packaging with touch of scandinavian flair. A dear friend recently introduced me to Mozi: an australian lifestyle brand. Their range includes some basic beauty products like body butters, bath salts and hand creams. Their overall brand image is very whimsical and quirky (exactly what I like), and when I saw their packaging, I just fell in love with them. Please enjoy and I hope you like them:

Jon Cannell

Jon Cannell is an illustrator based in North Bend, Washington. Jon creates quirky, illustrative & colourful illustrations. He creates illustrations particularly for children's books for publishers such as Chronicle Books, Getty Publications & Storey Publishing. Jon tends to work traditionally using pen & ink, watercolour & collage before working digitally. He is inspired by almost everything around him including books, magazines, watching his children draw & visiting art exhibitions. As well as publishers Jon has many other clients including Better Homes & Gardens, Harvard University, Starbucks & many more. Enjoy, Hannah.
